| “M“ stands for “monumental“
and serves to signify a Grüner Veltliner of exceptional complexity
and dimension of taste. The first Gruner to be awarded this honor was
one of the 1991 vintage. To us that wine appeared to be a monument, indeed. The grapes for “M“ are usually harvested two to three weeks after the fruit for the vineyard-designated wines. Depending on the vintage and growing season, “M“ is usually made by 70 percent of grapes derived from Loibner Berg, the balance being a selection from premium sites. “M“ is always a mighty wine, exhibiting a delicate, dainty opulence. > close |
